About Us​
At the Center for Democracy and Climate Studies (CDCS), we foster an inclusive society and promote a sustainable and just future for all. We actively engage in policy research, training initiatives, and advocacy efforts aimed at combating climate change, empowering youth as leaders of democratic values, and promoting environmental sustainability. We work on projects prioritizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including International Institutions, foreign missions’ governmental bodies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and community leaders. CDCS also provides consultancy services in strategic planning, capacity building, and countering negative propaganda/disinformation as required.
Addressing the challenge of misinformation is another integral part of our agenda. By fostering media literacy and promoting ethical journalism practices, we strive to uphold the integrity of information and strengthen public trust.

Democracy
At the Center for Democracy and Climate Studies, we are committed to strengthening democratic values, institutions, and practices. Our mission is to promote inclusive governance, civic engagement, and transparency through research, policy recommendations, and public education. We believe that political party members and their leaders must be trained in democratic values and that democracy should be practiced within parties themselves, so that the foundations of democracy in Pakistan can be strengthened. We aim to empower citizens with knowledge and tools to actively participate in decision-making processes, ensuring that democracy is resilient, accountable, and responsive to the needs of all communities.
Climate Governance
Center for Democracy and Climate Studies' mission in climate governance is to promote effective, transparent, and accountable decision-making processes in environmental policy and climate action. We focus on strengthening institutions, frameworks, and partnerships that ensure equitable and science-based solutions to climate challenges. By bridging research, policy, and community engagement, we aim to support governance systems that are responsive, inclusive, and capable of implementing sustainable strategies for mitigation, adaptation, and long-term resilience. We recognize that water security is deeply intertwined with climate change. Shifts in rainfall patterns, glacier melt, floods, and droughts directly affect the availability, quality, and distribution of freshwater resources. Our mission is to research these impacts, advocate for climate-resilient water policies, and raise public awareness about sustainable water management. By bridging science, policy, and community engagement, we aim to ensure that Pakistan’s water resources are managed equitably and sustainably in the face of a changing climate that has an adverse effect on Pakistan.
Media Information Literacy
In the digital age, where information spreads faster than ever, media information literacy has become essential for a healthy and informed society. At the Center for Democracy and Climate Studies, we work to equip citizens with the skills needed to understand, evaluate, and responsibly engage with digital content. Our mission is to help people identify reliable information, recognize misinformation and manipulation, and understand how digital platforms shape opinions and narratives. By promoting critical thinking and digital awareness, we aim to create a society that is resilient to false information and capable of making informed decisions. The spread of misinformation and fake news on social media poses serious challenges to public trust, social cohesion, and democratic stability. At the Center for Democracy and Climate Studies, our work focuses on understanding how false narratives circulate online and how they influence public perception and political behavior.
