Javed Iqbal
Javed Iqbal is a Journalist and non-practising Pharmacist having Degrees B.pharmacy and Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Peshawar,working as Senior Anchor at State broadcaster PTV News Islamabad.Javed Iqbal started his career as Journalist by joining Pakistan’s first News Channel Geo News as an Anchor.He was the part of its pioneer launching team from 2002 till 2008.As a News Anchor and current affairs host Javed Iqbal has covered number of big events like breaking stories,live transmissions and other topics of national and international subjects.Javed Iqbal then joined Dunya News 2009 as an Anchor and worked there till 2012.He then worked with Capital TV as Senior Anchor and Senior Executive Producer from 2012 till 2014.Javed Iqbal was also the part of BOL News during 2014-2016.He then joined a Pashtu News channel Mashriq TV as Head News and Current affairs.Javed Iqbal becomes the part of Public News as an Anchor 2019-2020.Javed Iqbal now has been the part of state broadcaster PTV News as an Anchor since 2021,hosting a three days current affairs show every Friday,Saturday and Sunday.
Dr. Zafar Hussain
Dr. Zafar Hussain is a specialist in Media and Communication Science and currently, he is serving as a Project Manager in China Economic Net, the largest Economic state-own media in China. His research interest includes analyzing the journalist's approach to covering Belt and Road Initiative issues in China and Pakistan. Zafar has received a Ph.D. degree from the Communication University of China, Beijing (2017) and has been at the forefront of taking initiatives for CPEC advocacy. In particular, his contribution in economic issues including tourism, and his input have gained recognition in both China and Pakistan. Zafar has worked closely with the journalist community for the past decade and hence acquired a unique skill to establish an outreach with media and news agencies, especially in Pakistan and China. In the backdrop of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CEPC), In numerous instances, Dr. Hussain gave lectures in various universities as a keynote speaker owing to which his tremendous intellect emerged as dominating instinct during presenting personal thoughts and opinions. His work on bringing objectivity among journalists is highly valued by the media community which appeared as his trademark in the growing media-public policy interface.
Dr. Muhammad Arif
Dr. Muhammad Arif has been teaching journalism at Mass Communication Department, S3H, NUST, with special focus on power and journalism, video journalism, digital journalism, climate and journalism since 2018. He is also editor of Voice Of Water, an environmental communication project. Altogether, Dr.Arif brings diverse media industry experience spanning from broadcast news media to emerging online platforms, digital soft power and media development projects. He began his career as an intern at Pakistan Television (PTV), a state broadcaster in 2004. Then he went on to Online News (2005), ATV (2006), before obtaining a role as News Producer at Reuters, TNN, and later at Dunya TV (2009), where he worked with leading journalists for more than two years. He was one of the pioneer news producers who covered war stories on Swat Operation in 2011 from the frontline of the battle. Besides rich professional experience, he has received professional journalism trainings: Media and democracy (The News), TV Journalism (SAFMA), Modern Practices in Journalism (CNN), Visual Journalism (Aljazeera TV), and Good Governance (NRSP). For Journalism research, Dr.Arif also serves as Reviewer for Journalism Practice, a globally renowned journal of Journalism. He is also associated as a Research Fellow with Research Center for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation at Hebei University, China. On the frontiers of visual communication, Dr.Arif, recently co-authored a book “Photographic Dialogue between a Chinese Scholar and a Pakistan Scholar” presenting panoramic view of life across China and Pakistan via wide angle and master shots. On the international collaboration side, Dr.arif has made contributions for Book Publication “Mass Media in Pakistan (Chinese Language Book, Support for Content Collection), Authored by Mr.Jin, Qiang, Hebei University, China. Additionally, he has initiated and accomplished International cooperation partnerships with Communication University of China(CUC) and Yunnan Mizu University, Kunming, (Yunnan, China). For representation of Pakistan in academic and professional arenas, he has participated in international conferences, too Dr. Arif’s interest and passion for media development projects: Nihao-Salam, an e- magazine and Understanding China Forum in 2020, are aimed to foster connectivity China and Pakistan in digital era. He graduated from the School of Journalism and Communication, Hebei University China.
